failed  windows 7 bootup screen how to get ride of ?
after trying to install windows 7 when i had only a xp version it did work so i bought a vista home basic and put windows 7 on a seperate partition no problem thereon startup i stil get the older failed windows 7 install option i see 3 time windows 7 and only one is working anyway i can get ride of the other failed windows 7 install ? in the boot up screen ?

There's a program called Vistaboot pro 3 [google it]. You can go into the program and actually delete inactive boots with it. , you can also change which OS you want to boot up first, and you can edit the OS name if you like. Example:" Microsoft Windows 7 Testing x64bit" that the way I do mine.

Otherwise, you can use bcdedit, from a command prompt.Type bcdedit /enum, to see all entries. Then, you can use bcdedit /delete {guid} for the extraneous entries. There will be a guid on the identifier line for each Windows Boot Loader section.For example, if the section I want to delete starts with:Windows Boot Loader-------------------identifier {2fa6f18b-b1c4-11dd-aa31-001fd08604cb}I would type: bcdedit /delete {2fa6f18b-b1c4-11dd-aa31-001fd08604cb} .
